— Our Manifesto
A brand born from conviction: that Ethiopian craftsmanship deserves a global stage — and that every garment should carry a story worth telling.
— Our Story
Libsbet was founded on a simple but radical idea: that the beauty of Ethiopian textile tradition should not be confined to ceremonial occasions or lost to the pressures of mass production. We set out to create a bridge — between the artisan and the everyday wearer, between heritage and modernity.
The name itself tells the story. Libs — meaning clothes in Amharic — combined with ቤት (Bet), meaning home. We are your home for clothing. Not a warehouse, not a catalogue — a home, with all the warmth and intention that word carries.
Every piece we carry has passed through the hands of skilled makers who know their craft intimately. We work with cooperatives and independent weavers across Addis Ababa, Awash, and the surrounding regions, ensuring fair wages and sustainable practices at every step of our supply chain.
Our collections are not seasonal in the fast-fashion sense. They are curated with longevity in mind — pieces that will outlast trends, that will age with grace, that will carry memory. We believe the best wardrobe is one built slowly, with deliberate choices and genuine stories behind each garment.
“Not a warehouse, not a catalogue — a home.”
— What We Stand For
Heritage
IWe root everything in the rich textile traditions of Ethiopia — weaving methods, dye techniques, and pattern languages passed down through generations. Our work is a continuation, not a departure.
Quality
IIWe believe in making fewer, better things. Each piece is selected for durability, craftsmanship, and the kind of quiet excellence that reveals itself over years of wearing. No shortcuts, no compromises.
Community
IIIWe invest in the makers behind the garments — fair wages, long-term partnerships, and genuine care for the communities we work with. When Libsbet grows, so do they.
